Have you been affected by the journey of dementia caregiving, and would like to be a part of a larger mission to support others? Have you previously volunteered or worked for an organization providing support to people affected by age-related memory loss? Volunteering for Dementia Partners AVL is a wonderful way to be there for people like you who are on the dementia journey!
Requirements of being a support group volunteer include communication skills to listen & share with others, taking an integral part in a growing grassroots non-profit organization, and dedicating 2-3 hours per month for the invaluable cause of creating community here in Asheville in a time of need for so many.
If you're interested in volunteering, please email Dementia Partners Co-Founders Vernon & Joyce Robinson at dementiapartnersavl@gmail.com or call them at 828-367-7388 . Even if you are unsure, please don't hesitate to reach out for a discussion as to how you can help others on the dementia journey. We're here for you, all along the way!

Our father, Jimmy Davis found immense comfort and purpose in the Dementia Partners Support meetings, both before and after the passing of his beloved wife, Barbara Davis. These meetings became a vital part of his life, offering him support and a sense of community.
Before Mom's passing, Dad received invaluable support from others who were experiencing similar challenges which helped him realize that he was not alone in his journey. After her passing, Dad continued to be an active member of the group, receiving tremendous support from its members.
Impressed by the dedication and hard work of Vernon and Joyce, Dad decided to make a donation in Mom’s name to help grow the non-profit organization so that it can impact even more people dealing with dementia . This gesture not only honored Mom’s memory but also contributed to building a lasting legacy for her.
The Dementia Partners Group provided Jimmy with a renewed sense of purpose during a difficult time. The group became like a second family to Dad with Vernon and Joyce going out of their way to stay in touch and keep his spirits high. He cherished his role as Honorary Chairman of the Board, especially enjoying the responsibility of gaveling the meetings to order.
The family of Jimmy and Barbara Davis is profoundly grateful for the support and dedication of the Dementia Partners Support Group particularly Vernon and Joyce. We eagerly anticipate hearing about the continued great work that the group will accomplish in the future.
Your support and contributions will enable us to continue to support those affected by dementia.
We love our families, so please contact us by appointment, or visit our support groups.
